Scotland

Long awaited, the journey of discovering our northern Celtic friends’ nation has begun. We’ve had two days of Ingrid Llandudno therapy, so are ready to venture forth.

Today’s 4.5 hours car ride stops at Balloch, to the north of Glasgow and at the southern end of Loch Lomond. A bit like Como is to Lake Como. A bit.

Loch Lomond

The town is also the gateway to The Trussochs – a range of mountains or hills depending upon where you live – and The Trussochs National Park. So tomorrow, we drive up the western side of the famous loch and out of the Park. Fast life, huh?

And here is the (ubiquitous?) castle.

We write in The Old Dog PH, the saving grace of which is a pint of Loch Lomond Brewery’s beer. Day one of official holiday and already one craft brewery. Augurs well or not well, depending upon how you live
